On December 7 a paramilitary group tried to carry out an assassination on a world- known Serbian filmmaker and director Emir Kusturica (the winner of two Golden Palms at the Cannes Film Festival). Luckily the police learnt about the attempt on time while tapping the telephone of the Avengers, the plotters of the attempt, and managed to prevent a tragedy. The reason for Kusturica to be a target is said to be his friendship with the president of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

Unfortunately, living in the world where everything is shown and perceived in black and white, it is hard to have a personal opinion. Since whenever someone’s opinion does not coincide with the others’, the solution is mostly found in weapon. This time the world was lucky enough not to lose such a great director.  But when will this extremism and intolerance stop?
